Energy Release

Eagle River, Wisconsin

January 16-19, 2014

This past weekend Chartier Motorsports was back at the Eagle River World Championship to defend our Title. It was a fun and exciting weekend with great support from our Sponsors, Family and Friends. The week started right where we left off.

Thursday afternoon was the start of the race weekend with WC Time Trials. The Trials seed and place each racer into a round robin format for heat races, semi finals, and starting line spots. The sled was super fast, and the #33 posted in his first time out 35.557 in two laps out of a 23 driver field. We then opted to get in more track time by trying a second time and backed up our first time out with a 35.800 the fields second fastest time. After the field was seeded with their fastest time, Thursday night started qualifying for the TLR Cup. The TLR Cup final ran in conjunction with the Sweet Sixteen Friday night. In our Thursday night heat race, the #33 jumped out front with a solid start and lead each lap for a first place finish.

Friday Night Thunder can almost be classified as a race in itself. The Sweet Sixteen race that gives the opportunity for the pole position for Sundays final it consists the top sixteen drivers whom compete in a 16 lap feature which winner takes all.  The #33 sled was on its game by winning the heat race earlier in the night, qualifying first. This carried over to the nights final feature which the #33 again jumped out front and lead each lap of the final to win and confirm the pole position for Sundays world championship.

Sunday... Leading up to the final the team was flawless. We were able to get each start and lead all laps we where entered into. Our momentum going in the 30 lap race was great and we where both nervous and excited about the outcome. In the final our starts where consistent, the #33 grabbed the signatory Houle-shot and lead each of the first ten laps to the mandatory pit stop. We where given 10 minutes to change anything we needed to the sled. The race was restarted with a staggered start and we jumped out front coming out of turn two. After the first two - three laps the #33 started to breath and stretch out his lead. In the end we lead all 30 laps and finished with a Back 2 Back victory.

The team is grateful for our accomplishments thus far in the 2014 race season. We greatly appreciate all the help and support our sponsors do for our team to make our goals a reality.

THANK YOU!!!!
